"Keep BBSing Alive"

Curator's Corner
Welcome to The Curators Corner of COCA.
This area is my own little office area where I can work, and post such things as FAQ, and comments, etc.

Status Bullet. 1999.05.17Pate was grilled by all three officers at a special meeting. After refusing to give up information on the origional trademarks, he was asked never to return. I remain friends, but I don't understand his motive to not release the information. De and I believe he is protecting Roy Cooper.

Repo also resigned, saying he could not be a part of this travesty. Nor would he give the data desired on the trademarks. So now we have a need for another assistant curator, and must acquire one in ninety days or be defunct ourselves. If this occurs the trademarks revert to TheLitterBox Inc. Would it not be ironic if that happerned?

While evidence presented by TimM313@aol.com is impressive, it is incorrect in several areas.
.The IRS site is simply not up to date.
..Non-profit trademarks do not show on the online trademark databases.
...Placement on the museum online directory is voluntary, and I declined. Policy is to not give any information to telephone callers.
....The DC Bar online database is voluntary, an opt-in, and Repo was unaware of it.
.....The Mail Stop is at 932 Edwards Ferry Road. I have seen it myself.
......Repos mistake with the registration information shows he is not Pate. Pate would have known that.
.......My failure to lock out Roy Cooper, Gary Brosis, or 'Tim' at first sight shows I am not Pate. I was never a member of the RDG.
........Did I miss one? Yes, De has agreed at Pates request to verify that he has defrauded nobody of any funds.

Now with Pate and Repo are gone, I am talking with De and Smage as to our options. Until we can decide, can we get back to promoting BBSing?

Status Bullet. 1999.05.16A RETRACTION of the earlier bullet. Apparently it was the real Roy Cooper. However, he did not honor the temporary no post until his claims could be confirmed. Twice he reentered using yet another email address. His last post dared us to lock him out. All three officers met and agreed that the only way to stop this abuse was to make the listserve a 'controlled' listserve, where every new user one of the officers must 'let him in'. It is regretable.
Status Bullet. 1999.05.10Another attack by another false 'Roy Cooper' forces me to make the first lockout of our listserve.
Status Bullet. 1999.04.19COCA becomes legal with the IRS in a sitdown meeting at Cable and Wireless' Tysons Corners office.

Hosted by TheLitterBox.
Status Bullet. 1999.04.17Back when Pate purchased the trademarks to protect the good name of COCA from the third party, he told COCA that it had ninety days to become legal, so that he could return the property. The 'old' or 'RDG' COCA refused, and responded by booting him out.

That ninety day period was up on midnight the sixteenth, and a meeting was held to sign over the rights. As of 19990417, 0115 EST, the 'old' COCA site, a prime example of a 'dead' page, became a trademark violation.

I call upon them to do the right thing and shut it down. Anything else would be a fine display of the politics and other unprofessional actions that have marred our hobby. The invitation stands to the members of the 'old' COCA to become contributors.
Status Bullet. 1999.03.22It's Official. Section 501(c)(6) professional association tax-exempt. Officially founded today: with legal redress to 19970701. Washington, DC
Status Bullet. 1999.03.21The listserve/echo/usegroup linkage was taken down when a visitor pointed out a potential security fault. Pate is working on it.
Status Bullet. 1999.03.03Rumor has been confirmed. I called the University of London. Pate has been "tapped" by his doctorial committee for a Docorate of Legal Letters. That I understand is a cross between an american LD and JD. He will be traveling back to London for the commencement. This has a lot of chuckling going on, as the University of London is a Law School. Has Pate joined the 'Dark Side'?.
Status Bullet. 1999.03.03General Grant has stepped forward to moderate the Fidonet Echo, and Pate is moderator on the listserve side.
Status Bullet. 1999.03.02Squirel has stunned serveral contributors and visitors with his telnet and html lists. They are a excellent resource! We have been told by many that it is the largest and most complete available.
We are also told that the other organizations were most quick to rip them.
Status Bullet. 1999.03.01Smage is hard at work finalizing and polishing the multihome linkages.
Status Bullet. 1999.03.01Pate is hard at work with the message base linkages. This problem has stumped several contributors and other professionals. Pate reports that he is working on a special cgi to overcome the problems. He also reports that Smage is assisting.
Status Bullet. 1999.03.01Dark Eagle reports that the spammer/mailbomber has had his equipment confiscated. It appears that our case may not be heard in the feeding frenzy over the child porn recovered from that system.
Status Bullet. 1999.03.01The 'magic' url of http://welcome.to/coca is working quite well. Further, there is no longer a 'master' station, it is all 'peer mirror'.
Status Bullet. 1999.02.27Pate was publicly chastised by Dark Eagle concerning his posts on the investigation in the COCA-PROMOTE. This was immediately followed by an apology by Dark Eagle which crossed Pate's apology. All had a good laugh.
Status Bullet. 1999.02.25Repo dropped a bombshell. How Pate knew that the signature on the 'Counsel' trademark was false is anyones guess, but Repo has confirmed that the signature does not in any way match the signature obtained when he pulled Roy Coopers California drivers licence. Thus the registration for 'Counsel' invalid. 'Council' and 'Committee' still stand, but are being checked now.
Status Bullet. 1999.02.17The coca@onelist.com is Pate's link testing area (so it is not safe!).
FAQ. 1999.02.15What is COCA?
COCA, after the reorganization, is a 'library' of links and materials for the use of the general public. It is not a club, nor a museum. I am one of the two officers of COCA. Theother is Marcus Fair, ESQ.
FAQ. 1999.02.15Who are you?
My name is Pendleton. I am an museum curator.
