Me >Owner & Editor: Internet/BitNet Health Science Resources List >---------------------------------------------------------- > Lee ... I have a copy of your listing. It is wonderful. Many thanks to you for creating it. Regarding the ALS support group, I would love to have it as ALS-L on a LISTSERV but my university is not set up for that. I am trying to find a volunteer to run a LISTSERV since I am very busy taking care of my ALS-diagnosed girl friend. But if I can't find a volunteer I will set up an ALS mailing list type of a thing on a Unix system. A young man named Mickey Boyd of the Mathematics Department here at Fla State Univ has agreed to be my main helper toward setting up a group. If nothing happens on the LISTSERV scene before the second week of Jan then I will take him up on his offer and go with a Unix box. Until I have more specific info all I can do is tell interested people to get in touch with me at broedel@geomag.gly.fsu.edu. A small group of interested people are exchanging ALS-related e-mail among ourselves until the Unix box gets going. All interested folk are welcome (and invited) to join. rgds, bro > >Date: Tue, 29 Dec 92 22:38:51 EST >From: mstrange@ccs.carleton.ca (N E N Strangelove) >Subject: Re: ALS & e-mail > >Bob, >I apologize ahead of time if this is the nth message like >this... >I am working on a directory of network resources for social >work studies [2nd edition]. For sure we *will* have an ALS-oriented support/discussion group. I will for sure keep you and Lee informed about any progress. Regarding your directory (1st Edition),is it available on-line? If so, could you please send me a copy? Many thanks to you for getting in touch. rgds, bro > >Date : Wed, 30 Dec 92 15:54:55 -0700 >From : Andrew Penn >To : Bob Broedel >Subject: Re: ALS & e-mail > > Members of the Neurology Department here at the University of >Alberta are on the Internet (NeXT Mail versant) at present myself >and Dr. Michael Brooke and a machine for residents. We haven't actually set up an ALS discussion group yet but I am sending you some notes that will give you an idea about what we are trying to do. I think it will be a fairly small group so you probably won't have to worry about having to answer too many questions. During the second week of January I hope to have the ALS Discussion Group set up. Hopefully you will like it, and hope- fully you will want to be a part of it. I do have some questions: (1) Are there any ALS-oriented clinical trials happening in Canada? (2) Could you tell us anything about Canadian organizations that would be equivalent to: ALS Association 21021 Ventura Blvd., Suite 321 Woodland Hills CA 91364 TEL 818-340-7500/800-782-4747 FAX 818-340-2060 Muscular Dystrophy Association 3561 East Sunrise Drive Tucson AZ 85718 TEL 602-529-2000/800-572-1717 FAX 602-529-5300 rgds, bro == end of als 5 ==
