On 09:45 PM 7/26/98 -0500, I personally witnessed Damion Schubert jumping
up to say:

Gee, where did this crop of people who think like me come from? I've heard
an awful lot of my own opinions coming out of other people's mouths lately.
This sort of thing has gone on in tabletop gaming, too. We all know the guy
in some group we used to game with who was a complete jerk, but a good
player... and everyone would put up with him because he was such a good
player. I always said 'kick the bastard out' in these situations, under the
assumption that no amount of good playing was worth the amount of acting
like a jerk these people did. And online, the phenomenon is even worse.
People always thought I was a cruel DM. I tried several times to explain
that I was not a cruel DM, but a RUTHLESS DM, which was rather different.
Besides, it only made sense for the dungeonmaster to be draconian.
