Have any of you checked out Underlight? It's a style of MMORPG
which I think could be really effective... Basically, there are NO
NPC characters except for the monsters. In the begging the Elders
(GMs) gave all the quests, but once a sufficient number of players
reached a reasonably high level, they were allowed to quest for
Train... basically, now all quests are created by players. if the
Elders find out that a teacher isn't giving hard enough quests, or
is just freely handing out skills, they are stripped of Train. The
teachers who have Train are marked by a halo of their Focus color
(basically their class), so it's easy for new players to figure out
which teachers can task for the skills they need.

Sincerely,
Mydnight
