Some statistics from WWIIOL. Not sure how relevant they might be to
any one particular design but none the less, data is good.

What program do you use for voice communication in game?

    77% Teamspeak
    1% Roger Wilco
    2% Other
    18% None

When using a voice com do you?

    39% just listen
    42% mostly talk
    18% none

Do you prefer regular chat or voice?

    34% typing
    66% voice

Disclosure:

  - all respondants are ww2ol players

  - respondants represent a most vocal/involved subset

  - info from http://www.polls.wwiionline.com/

  - Team Speak is the unofficial voice comm of choice for our player
  run command infrastructure

  - wwiiol is not primarily focused on role play as acting though
most players would tell you that they indeed play a role

  - wwiiol is a purely PvP game
