By PKing, I mean non-consensual PvP combat.

It doesn't happen outside of MUDs because people wouldn't stand for it.  =

only happens *in* muds because the jerks can get away with it.  If they
weren't anon, if they could be banned and stay banned, if there were just
the slightest chance in the world that someone might punch them in the =
face
from time to time for behaving like total dinks, then there wouldn't be =
any
PKing ("nonconsensual PvP combat").

If you delighted in killing each other and your typical game consisted of
fighting each other, then it wasn't non-consensual.
