Exactly.  And when the game is structured to discourage soloing,
this results in a no-win situation (or all of the social depth and
complexity of a pickup bar--"Ugric shouts, "lvl10 pal LFG 4 quest
mumble" " and so on.

If I can't play with my friends, and I can't play alone, why bother?
