}I know Dave (Taylor, head of Crack dot Com)--I can ask him about its
}suitability for this purpose if you like.
A free, platform independant, modular 3d renderer/GUI/model
loader/graphic loader/networking code? Beats my dX6 demo landscape
renderer hands down.
I believe the reason they died was related to the game they wanted
to create, and fickel publishers. Uprising and Battlezone havent done so
well so coming out with a third similar was probably seen as not
marketable.
However other games with the same visual needs (ie Starsiege type
games, the new crop of graphical muds etc) would do great with it.
For the small group/hobbiest programming teams it gives a HUGE
boost to what can/could be accomplished. I spent a large portion of time
getting 3d models properly loaded to be seen on the screen, and was just
starting to work on GUI stuff...
Im just a little excited (mostly to see production
code/design/implementation).
