Rob Lumley -- with whom I owned and operated Telmaron, the first commercial
MUD service provider -- is blind. Not only does he have no trouble playing
MUDs, he has no trouble with UNIX either. 

What he DOES have trouble with is Windows. Accessibility for the blind in
Windows is pretty anemic (although accessibility for most other handicaps
is pretty good -- cerebral palsy, for example, is probably better served by
Windows than by any other O/S). He used OS/2 when he needed to run Windows
apps. :)
