Recently, I have been going through the process of starting up an Internet
software company, dealing with games and other things. Everything was going
quite well until I hit the problem of domain names and trademarks. We have
decided to form an LLC, but this brings complications involving a unique
company name. I have done some research and nearly every article concluded
that trademark and domain name disputes are becoming a problem. Due to the
large number of game company start-ups, I am starting to become a little
concerned about how we are going to expand in the coming years. Any
thoughts or new information?

I spent several days looking for a unique .com, discovering that all words
in almost every major language are taken, most combinations are taken, and
almost every pronounceable non-word domain name is taken. The best I have
managed to come up with is a non-word that is one letter different from two
other software companies. The name sounds great, but I have to worry about
trademark disputes. Any thoughts or new information?

Regards,

Jon
