Say, rather, that "addition is a good thing" is a player-centric view.
"Change is a bad thing" is also a common player view.

Admins like to tinker, by and large. But that also includes changing stuff.
Players tend to be resistant to change. 

There's a story about the time that Meridian 59 upgraded their artwork. Now,
if you ever saw the original release of M59, its graphics had become badly
dated before it released. Some time later, a decision was made to revamp the
graphics. They looked MUCH better. But players screamed, because their faces
and characters had changed...
