I believe this is the classic Dungeons and Dragons game
opening. Like "Pawn to King's 4..." or "It was a dark and stormy
night..."  It is usually followed by DM playing, "A cowled dark
stranger approaches your table...".  A party that counters with, "We
pour our ales on the stranger's head, giggle hysterically, and leave
to go cow tipping..."  is known as "Scholar's Mate".
