Yes and no. It depends on the claim being made. If someone claims
that under copyright a company can stop a player from selling a
virtual item, then I'm not sure that _that_ law exists.

However as you say all kinds of other potentially applicable laws do
exist such as breach of contract. In the case of people being ripped
of during paypal transaction and the like there is: fraud,
deception, good old theft etc.
