Has anyone tried to a carrot, in addition to a stick? IE: "Be the
first person to report a major bug and get a free stereo/TV worth
$200, find a minor bug and get a t-shirt..." The exploiter would
have the fun of finding the bug, and (hopefully) the RL reward would
be greater than the in-game reward.

Some people might spend their time playing just to see if they could
find a bug. Of course... there's something very deep about the
concept ... The fun in the game (for some people) being the act of
finding flaws in the game as opposed the playing it.
