Consider Europe, where a hamburger costs a fair bit, as much as four times the American price. It is more appropriate to look at eating *habits* over a long period of time when looking at the meat/vegan debate; government subsidies here play a large role in the relative inexpensive price of beef. Like my old pal Denis Leary sez: "This country was founded on meat (and war)." Nothing I like better than sucking down a greasy quarter pounder tho'... :) -X
