take this flesh from me
it's fragile and worn
took a knife and removed it
to give to you
the incision clean
the surgery neat
carry it with you 
wherever you go
and when you touch it
or look at it
or feel it beating in your hand
remember me
and be careful
my heart is in your keeping
and i trust you with it


well, i guess this is my attempt at a non-sappy, non-bitter love poem.  
and this is what happens when you listen to nine inch nails during a 
raging thunderstorm while trying to write poetry.  ah well...
