The darkness
Slowly creeps down
The stars blink their eyes
As if they were washing away the sleep within.
I held her tight
    As we gazed upon the glitter filled skies.
She asked me not to let her go,
For without me she was lost.
I quietly whispered into her ear,

   "Then hold on tight, my Queen
    For I will be your guiding light
    I will be your intricate map
    I will be your never failing compass."

She smiled at me
Her never ending happiness
Spreading joy within my mind
Spreading love throughout our hearts.

I shall lead her to safety
I shall carry her to the light.
