The Damned

i hid from you as i hid from myself;
i walked inward, and kicked when you pulled me
Out and said to face the world, it's what's best
For me. So i became molded, and learned
The dance. Which mask should i wear today? Can
You wait while i try them on? And i've many
Painted smiles and funny little sayings
To match as well. i thought i was running,
But i was standing still. And now i think
i'm stronger, but i'm only hiding and
Hurting, enjoying the pain because it's
Real, and something i learned from
You. And now i'm teaching myself that hate
And the rage and death are what the masks hide.
